SciRobotics' Normalizer
 is a high-throughput device for measuring Absorbance / Optical Density (OD) / McFarland in up to 8 tubes simultaneously and continuously.

It can be used as a stand alone module or integrated into any robotic platform and it fits onto Tecan EVO worktable seamlessly.

The Normalizer can be used for normalizing samples to specified standard or for monitoring reactions or bacterial growth by changing absorbance or turbidity.
For example, a user can provide 8 concentrated samples in tube and have a robot automatically normalize all of them to 0.5 McFarland standard before bacterial identification.

The Normalizer can be controlled and monitored easily from a computer for integration into any assay.

  • Set point – OD set point and range are defined in software. Read which tubes are within desired range.

  • Visual – Software shows state of tubes and OD in real time. Gives visual indication of reaching the set point.

  • Preparation of 0.5 McFarland samples for Bacterial identification, e.g. in bioMérieux VITEK.
  • Growth synchronization of E. coli to specific OD.
  • Dilution of microbial sample for spread plating ("lawn") before AST. e.g. antibiotic discs / bioMérieux Etest and Antibiograms.
  • Dilution of overnight yeast culture before DNA extraction.
